Second submission, thought I'd try a real person .. my little brother. Yeah little. This is him after a swim at a state championship meet.

It's a work in progress, I would like to add a background and do a little more touching, and a couple other things, but I thought I'd put it up.

Graphite on paper ~ 2 hours
**Used a snapshot I took as a reference.

The composition is really quite nice. Good line work too and the anatomy looks practically perfect!

his right arm and shoulder looks broken though... the face is nice. its a pity its not fully finished.
youe should try go a bit more darker when drawing, and add more highlights

Taintra, I'm not sure I fully understand your comment about the shoulder and arm, but I will look into it more. I guess the traps are a little out of proportion... but I will look into it - Thanks.

really cool! i swim competitive every day myself, so i think this picture is neat! i dont think i have ever seen anyone draw a swimming picture before here at gfx. (you have inspired me to draw one!) you did a good job with his arm and hand. And nice shadding on his face. ( =

Must admit the left arm does look a bit broken just before the hand.I think the arm as a whole would probably be a bit too long if straightened out 2.The index finger,at this angle,should also be drawn in where it curls round towards the thumb.Could be a bit darker to, perhaps maybe the scanners fault.Play with the levels in Photoshop a bit.

I understand about the arm now, and I'm working on correcting the "broken" look, and now I'm worried about proportion *sigh*

Remiel. I'm see the comment make it darker, or up the contrast a lot (not just for my works - both of them here). I suppose I need to look into that more in the refining stage.

Good angle, Nice lines and I like the subtleness of it. Maybe a little more shading on his thumb,but not much or it will look odd compared to the rest of the piece.
